IGN before today received nothing but hate from the N4G Community and Gametrailers gave Modern Warfare 2 9.5.

I Rarely acknowledge Gametrailers.com as great game reviewers, I mean Modern Warfare 2 received a 9.5.
Perhaps they considered Uncharted 3 less of a progression from it's predecessor than Uncharted 2 was to the original. Perhaps they considered it more of the same...
So, despite admitting the game has flaws, and it's underwhelming multiplayer offering it achieves a perfect score? IGN Puzzle me. And now suddenly the N4G Community will bow down to IGN until it scores an Xbox 360 title highly.

It amuses me how a developer of whom have never come close to maxing out the potential of any console can release a statement such as this.
We're all entitled to our own opinion, but yours tells me you haven't played Gears of War. Uncharted, without it's brilliant animations, is just a collage of other games mechanics, it has brought nothing new, just taken from other games...
So, they're claiming this to be a perfect game? They musn't have played the multiplayer. It frustrates me that reviewers are blind to the issues the game as because the singleplayer is a technical achievement. Uncharted 3 will be a great game, but perfect? Gears of War 3 is a 10/10 Game. IGN should have ATLEAST have given it an 9.5, especially considering the fact that they gave the quite disappointing Resistance 3 9.0 also. After playing the bea, I would consider it wrong for Uncharted to score higher than Gears as Gears has both an incredible Singleplayer AND Perfect Multiplayer, Uncharted 3's multiplayer has always been a let down.
How can you criticise Gears of Wars Multiplayer? Epic has supplied a weapon to combat the current Gnasher Shotgun of which is a weapon that requires huge levels of skill. Also, Epic has supplied their players with Dedicated Servers, a variety of unique gamemodes and are constantly supporting the game with updates, DLC and Events (Free new gamemodes playable for a limited time). Anyone who doesn't buy a game because their favourite developer went multiplatform with a game completely unrelated to their other franchises is quite frankly f***ing pathetic.
At the end of the day, this is business, this is people's lives. With sales as atrocious as this, can you blame Insomniac for going multiplatform? Sony fanboys time and time again brag about their long lists of exclusives but when they release they're either underwhelming or their sales are...
Just because a game is part of the Shooter genre, it doesn't mean the title can't be considered innovative. And time and time again I see games with not a grain of innovation winning "Game of the Year". Uncharted 2 did nothing new, it borrowed from other games and created a hybrid/collage of their mechanics.

When did people start caring what particular publications name as "Game of the Year"? It doesn't or at least shouldn't change personal preference. I've been playing the Gears of War franchise since day one, being such a fanatic this game is obviously my personal Game of the Year. Nothing will change my opinion, Gears of War 3, to me, is the perfect game, I don't particularly give a crap what IGN considers the best, just like how I don't care for their reviews.

Unless a game offers a lengthy Single-Player aspect of which offers a diverse range of gameplay mechanics and consistently throws new elements at the player, multiplayer is a necessity in video games.
